|Classes start on Tuesday, April 24th and run for 5 weeks (April 24, May 1, 8, 15, 22) and are offered online via video conferencing from the comfort and convenience of your own home.

This five week hands-on photography introductory class offered online will cover the following topics:
- Getting out of auto mode and understanding how and why your camera's shutter speed, aperture, and ISO (the exposure triangle) work together to create beautiful photographs
- Using natural light (sun) and artificial light (flash) in a variety of shooting scenarios (indoors and outdoors)
- Understanding the rules of composition and how to use them to create artistic photographs rather than simple snapshots
- Learning what the different icons and functions on your camera's LCD screen are and how to use them to create the photographs you envision
-Practical strategies for taking photos in a wide variety of settings and circumstances (e.g., of your children and grandchildren, nature and landscape photography, travel photography, food photography)
What your photography course fee includes:
-Five 1.5 hour long classes that take place on live video conferencing via your computer
-Classes run from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. Please be sure you are available during this time as the class is interactive. In case of illness or unexpected events, classes will be videotaped and available to students until the following class (for 6 days).
-6 months of online access to a 50 page course manual that will reinforce what you learn in each lesson
-Membership in a private Facebook group where you will post weekly homework assignments and receive feedback.
-Membership in a private Graduate Facebook group where you can continue your learning after the class is done with daily/weekly photo challenges, tips, feedback on your photos, as well as continued access to my knowledge and support as you develop your skills.
Graduates of the class can also register for Intermediate level workshops. Previous topics have included Landscape & Nature photography, Sunsets & Silhouettes, Urban Photo walk, Baby & Child Photography, Introduction to Lightroom, Night time / Holiday Light Photography.
-You need to own a DSLR camera
-You need to have access during the class every week to a computer/tablet with high speed internet.
-You need to be available at the designated dates and times
-The class is for hobbyist photographers only and not for those who own their own photography business or who intend to start one.
Class space is limited to ensure an optimal learning environment for all participants. The cost is $199+HST. The fee is non refundable.
